Molly's Priorities

Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal accountability is the foundation of Garden City’s strength and stability.

Having managed a $93 million public budget—three times the size of Garden City’s—with precision, transparency, and long-term foresight, I know how to stretch every dollar. As costs rise and state constraints tighten, we must safeguard reserves, maintain strong credit, and ensure growth pays for growth. Through disciplined budgeting, proactive grant capture, and smart public-private partnerships, we can meet the needs of a growing community without burdening residents. Garden City has a legacy of fiscal prudence—I intend to strengthen and protect it for the future.

Public Safety

Safety comes first - for every neighborhood, every business, and everyone who calls Garden City home.

In Garden City, we invest heavily in our police department, and as mayor, I will ensure we’re maximizing that investment. That means securing additional resources through grants, public-private partnerships, and regional collaborations - so we can enhance safety without burdening taxpayers. Our officers deserve stable funding, modern tools, and full staffing, but public safety goes beyond policing. Working together with local developers, neighboring cities, ACHD, ITD, and community partners, we can keep our Greenbelt, thoroughfares, and neighborhoods safe, connected, and welcoming for everyone.

Guided Growth

Growth is happening—and it must happen through us, not to us.

Garden City deserves a clear vision that reflects who we are today and who we want to become. That means identifying and celebrating the unique character of each area of town while creating a cohesive, citywide identity that guides smart zoning and thoughtful development. With shared language, intentional planning, and collaboration among residents, businesses, and builders, we can shape growth that fits our values—protecting what makes Garden City special while positioning us for a strong, vibrant future.

Collaboration and Innovation

Garden City’s future depends on collaboration - and that starts with leadership that knows how to bring people together.

I’ve spent more than two decades building coalitions across government, business, and community sectors, and I’ll bring that same approach here. As mayor, I’ll ensure Garden City has a strong voice at every table - locally, regionally, and at the state level - where decisions about our future are being made.

We’ll lead innovation through partnerships that turn ideas into action: collaborative workshops, pilot projects, and measurable plans that reflect our city’s values. And we’ll keep residents and businesses directly involved through advisory councils, neighborhood based listening sessions, and transparent public dashboards.

With steady, inclusive leadership, Garden City can lead from the front—shaping growth, not chasing it, and turning collaboration into real progress.

Transparency and Accountability

Government should work for the people—no runaround, no red tape.

City Hall must be efficient, responsive, and open. Residents and businesses deserve quick, clear answers and straightforward service without confusion, delay, or unnecessary cost. Transparency builds trust, and trust drives accountability.

As mayor, I will:

  • Create a one-stop service portal with predictable timelines and online status tracking

  • Publish plain-language guides, clear fee structures, and simple appeal processes

  • Set and publicly report service benchmarks for permits, inspections, and response times

  • Make budgets, contracts, and dashboards fully accessible online

  • Simplify public records requests with digital access and clear deadlines

  • Provide regular citywide updates and multiple ways for residents to connect—online, by phone, and in person

I’ll lead a government that is transparent, efficient, and accountable—one that earns public confidence by showing results and fixing problems fast.

Housing Solutions

Balanced housing keeps Garden City strong.

Our neighborhoods are the heart of our community, and we need a strategy that supports everyone - young professionals, families, retirees, and long-time residents alike. Having led cross-sector coalitions and large-scale community initiatives, I know how to bring developers, nonprofits, and government partners together to create real solutions.

Through public engagement, smart zoning, targeted incentives, and public-private partnerships, we can increase housing options near jobs and transit while protecting neighborhood character. I’ll also pursue regional collaborations to reduce barriers, attract investment, and prevent displacement - keeping Garden City welcoming, vibrant, and affordable for generations to come. I know how to guide growth and build communities that our residents want, without taxpayers bearing the burden.
